How did you begin your journey at (MDR) and when? July 11, 2013! Best day ever! I started taking class with theStudioMDR over 10yrs ago; at the time I had noticed my body was not responding well to my previous go-to workout and I needed to mix things up. Within a couple of weeks, the weight just melted off.
How has your fitness journey progressed since we last featured you? I can take two classes in a row now! and maybe 4 classes a week total! :) I have kept all of the weight off from when I started taking class.
Have you achieved any significant milestones or goals since then? I have kept the weight off and increased my muscle mass.
How has your perspective on fitness and wellness evolved over your time at (MDR) ? FItness and wellness go hand-in-hand. To me, fitness is a necessity.
Have you encountered any new challenges in maintaining your fitness routine and how have you overcome them? Sometimes life and work is too hectic and I am super tired so I try to listen to my body more and give myself a break - I just remind myself that when I take a break it will be okay because when I go back to class I am going to love the results, going to thrive off the energy of the room and going to love seeing all of the familiar faces.
What role has The Studio (MDR) continued to play in your fitness journey? The studio is my outlet and my therapy. If it wasn't for the studio and the amazing and lovely staff I would be a hot mess.
Have you discovered any new favorite workouts or fitness activities? A great compliment to my studioMDR classes is to go on a nice walk outside :)
How do you stay motivated to keep up with your fitness goals? I remind myself that if I am not taking care my health (both mental and physical) I am not going to be the best for my family members, friends and co-workers; so I make taking classes a priority.
Have you noticed any changes in your body or overall health since our last feature? I have noticed I need more sleep! but then again don't we all?
How do you balance your fitness goals with other aspects of your life? Between helping with caring for an elderly parent, working east coast hours and squeezing in time with friends on the weekends, I take class whenever and wherever it fits my schedule. The multiple locations and multiple class times just makes life easier.
What advice would you give to others who are working towards their fitness goals? Take your time. Don't overdue it. Stay consistent. Treat yourself when you see the positive results.
Is there anything else you would like to share about your fitness journey since our last feature? I have been looking to buy a home but I don't think I can move far away from any of the studio locations - it is a part of my life :)
